GTE SUPERWATCH AWARD

The new award marks a watershed for the Geneva Time Exhibition in only its second year. In collaboration with the Plaza Watch group, Fair organizers set themselves an ambitious challenge: to mark the Fair's opening evening with a very special award – destined for the most accomplished new watch in terms of conception, avant-garde nature and technical prowess. The consistent excellence and extraordinary creativity of the 27 independent watchmakers – all of them GTE exhibitors – who took part in the competition has fully justified the bold decision to launch the Award.

The jury was composed of six internationally respected watch experts: Anders Modig (Chairman), Editor of Plaza Watch magazines; Elizabeth Doerr, watch journalist and writer; Jean-Marc Wiederrecht, independent watchmaker; Axel Kufus, Professor of Design at Berlin's Universität der Künste; Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, representing Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the leading watch distributors in the Middle East; and Sir Geoffroy Ader, Head of the Watch Department at Sotheby’s Europe.

Heritage Watch Manufactory and Cabestan are the winners of the 2012 GTE Superwatch Awards.
